Data deletion
Summary in one sentence: write to hola@j-dev.es asking for your data to be deleted and it will be deleted, free of charge and without you having to give any explanation.
How to request it
- Write to hola@j-dev.es with the subject “Data deletion”.
- Tell us where you contacted us from: the form on this website, the chat assistant, an appointment booking, or a message to the Facebook page or Instagram account of a business that uses the J-DEV service.
- If you are writing from a different address than the one you used then, tell us which one it was, so we can find the record.
You do not need to fill in any form or create any account. We reply confirming the deletion within a maximum of one month, which is the period set by the GDPR, and normally within a few days.
What is deleted
- Your contact details (name, email, phone number and whatever you wrote in the message).
- The conversations you have had with the website assistant.
- Any appointments you booked and the corresponding calendar event.
- The messages and the conversation identifier that came from Facebook or Instagram, as explained below.
The only data that is not deleted on request is the data that tax and commercial law require us to keep when there has been an invoiced business relationship. In that case you are told exactly what remains and for how long.
Data that comes from Facebook and Instagram
J-DEV develops and operates messaging assistants for other businesses. When a business connects its Facebook page or Instagram account to the J-DEV application, the application receives the messages and comments that people send to that business, together with the identifier that Meta assigns to each conversation. That data is used only to reply on behalf of that business and is not shared with anyone else.
If you wrote to a business on Facebook or Instagram and want what was stored from that conversation to be deleted, request it at hola@j-dev.es stating which business you wrote to and from which account. You can also ask the business directly, which has the same obligation to attend to you.
In addition, anyone can revoke an application's access from their own Facebook account, under Settings & privacy, Apps and websites. Revoking access stops new data from coming in, but on its own it does not delete what has already been stored: for that you need to request deletion by email.
If you are a J-DEV client business
You can disconnect your accounts from the application at any time from the settings of your Meta business portfolio, and ask by email for everything stored from your conversations to be deleted. It is deleted in full, including backups, within a maximum of thirty days.
